And with ecommerce transactions becoming more and more common right along with significant data breaches, identity theft rates are only increasing. The number of documented data breaches increased from 614 in 2013 to 1,579 in 2017. Whatever the source, mistakes in a credit report can have devastating effects on a consumer’s ability to access credit.
Lenders and others usually use your credit report along with additional finance factors to make decisions about the risks they face in lending to you. Having negative information on your credit report or a low credit score could suggest to lenders that you are less likely to pay back your debt as agreed. As a result, they may deny you a loan or charge you higher rates and fees.
In some cases, it's difficult to determine what to include as far as supporting documentation goes—that’s another way a credit repair company can help. For example, if you’re a victim of identity theft and a fraudulent account appears on your credit report, it can be tough to prove it isn’t yours because you don’t have any documents that relate to the account.
"I love CreditRepair.com, I was advised in April 2014 to use them by my son and dad, and they have been much help so far. I am able to track all 3 bureaus and the activity that goes on. My score is not perfect just yet, but they have removed most of the hard inquiries, which raised my score 40 points in no time. Thank you CreditRepair.com. I definitely recommend to all my friends and who ever comes across this post."

"I don't usually believe in all I see on TV or listen in the radio but this credit repair is the truth, I was all by my self with no idea what to do, working 6 days per week and making good money but with an awful credit score. There were bums with better credit than me, until I came in contact with this wonderful CreditRepair.com. In just 2 months I started to see great results, thanks CreditRepair.com."
Other than updating their website, Credit Firm could rank higher among credit repair companies by offering a satisfaction guarantee. While $49/month is affordable and the service is easy to cancel, this provider could take it a step further by letting customers know that they're committed to achieving a specific level of results within a given timeframe.

While we did find quite a few customer reviews that said their credit scores improved reliably over time using the Credit Repair service, it's hard to recommend a business that has an "F" grade at the BBB because they didn't take the time to prove that their advertised claims were legitimate. If those facts are accurate, it should be a simple process to report them and clear up the concern at the BBB. If that happens in the future, Credit Repair will probably move up in the rankings among the services we reviewed; until then, we suggest you look at some of the higher-rated companies for your credit history improvement plan.

"I had no hope. I thought I would never be able to build my credit; I could not even get approved for a gas card. CreditRepair.com turned all of that around with their equipped skills and fast attacking methods; my credit is finally getting where I want it and now I'm looking into buying a house... CreditRepair.com is a team that makes dreams come true. Thank you CreditRepair.com!!!"
When shopping around for the perfect credit repair company, start with the basics: fees and reputation. As in any market, the price of credit repair services will vary by company and features. Checking the company’s reputation with the BBB and industry associations is a good way to determine their legitimacy, and ensure you’re not about to throw your money away.
Credit repair companies can help when debt collectors attempt to collect an expired debt you no longer legally owe. Most credit repair companies employ lawyers to assist with these processes. The company’s employees send official cease-and-desist letters to get these collectors to stop contacting you. Negotiating with creditors may help remove inaccurate or out-of-date marks from credit reports, improve credit histories and increase credit scores.
Scoring models consider how much you owe and across how many different accounts. If you have debt across a large number of accounts, it may be beneficial to pay off some of the accounts, if you can. Paying down your debt is the goal of many who've accrued debt in the past, but even after you pay the balance down to zero, consider keeping that account open. Keeping paid-off accounts open can be a plus in your overall credit mix since they're aged accounts in good (paid-off) standing. You may also consider debt consolidation.
